Aphonopelma marxi-Grand Canyon Black 1″

$45.00

Once upon a time A. marxi was known as Aphonopelma behlei, but has since been renamed. I like the new name change, as anything that reminds me of the Marx Brothers is a good thing. They’re a smoky black with a red abdomen, and are one of the truly feisty Aphonopelma species out there. They will bite, so don’t mess about. They’ll hit 5″ and do best at cooler temps, 70s with humidity of 60%. In order to produce in captivity, they must be cooled significantly, as females are often found in Flagstaff AZ with eggsacs in Jan-Feb with freezing temps. Pretty darn interesting.
