Oh my, my, my, what a gorgeous beauty! Deep and rich black body with red orange knees. They’re among the most sought after tarantulas in the hobby due not only to the aforementioned coloration but also due to their unique care requirements. As a native to Costa Rican cloud forests, they need not only humidity of 75-80% but they also must be kept cooler than most tarantulas, we’re talking in the 60s here. I keep mine in my basement. I know that some keepers have been able to maintain them in their spider room at the same temperatures of the rest of their collection, but I don’t have the stones to risk that.
