Here we have a true beastie, the C. schioedtei. These monsters are among the largest of the Asian species, with a legspan close to 9″, long, long legs with enlarged metatarsi and tarsi, and that gorgeous blackish blue coloration and signature abdominal horizontal and vertical striping. Sharp! They dwell within tree hollows, and can be found both at the base and the tops of trees, so a wide and vertical enclosure satisfies both of these needs. They are scared of no one, and their speed and potent venom make them a strictly hands-off display animal. They enhance any collection and do well with temps in the mid to high 70s and humidity of 75%.
